Co-Curricular Transcript Credit Request:

We are so excited to announce the roll-out of our Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) Credit Request Process.  The usefulness of the CCT program hinges on being able to effectively document student's experiences as they travel through their many roles and opportunities at UA.  For this reason, we have created an application that will allow your department to document the various CCT worthy event, programs, and honors going on in your area.  In conjunction with the Student Affairs divisional priorities, we have adopted a variety of outcomes that will help a student track their level of exposure in 4 key areas of emphasis.  Those areas are:

  1. Ethical Leadership
  2. Civic Engagement
  3. Global Citizenship & Cultural Understanding
  4. Life Skills Development

Each time a student participates in a CCT program/event or receives credit for a CCT leadership experience or honor/award, their engagement progress bar for that specific area will increase and be tracked on their CCT, along with all of their positions, titles, experiences, etc. (see attachments).  As a part of the CCT program, your office will be able to submit credit request for the following types of things via our online application:

  1. Leadership Positions-  a title or position held with specific outcomes in any organization, activity, or program  (i.e.- Resident Advisor, Peer Leader, Avanti, Involvement Genius, College Ambassadors)
  2. Professional or Educational Development (Experiences/Events/Programs)-  any event or program that you host which has a set learning outcome and focus that pertains to the 4 areas of emphasis listed above (i.e.- events, workshops, training programs, internships, program or volunteer experiences that relate to the emphasis areas).  Through requesting credit for events, they will also be advertised on our event flyer board and you will be able to use our iPod swipe system to track attendance through act cards at the event.
  3. Honors, Awards, and Recognitions-  any type of formal recognition given to a student as an individual or part of a group (i.e.- premier award recipient, Student Affairs Leadership Society, SAL Award Recipient, 100 Hour Club- Services, etc.)

The application process will be open on a rolling basis and a we ask that items  be submitted individually due to the nature and set-up of the form.  However, we encourage you to submit your requests as often and as early as you want for events and programs.  Once your application has been submitted, a team of individuals will review to ensure that the program meets the CCT requirements and schedule follow-up meetings if needed.  From there, we will be in contact with the person in charge of your Credit Request.  Please contact the Office of Student Involvement with any questions at 205-348-6114 or rlmoore@sa.ua.edu.  We look forward to seeing what wonderful things you have in store for students this upcoming year.  Let's help our students find more useful and productive ways to "Do More in 4"!!
